Went To White Dog Cafe Today. (Javier's Father Shop? =D)
For the ones who don't remember, or haven't heard,
Javier's Father has a Bistro type Restaurant In
Vivo city,Called 'White Dog Cafe'(cute name right? ) level 2. 02-131/132 i think...
The reason why it's called so, as javier told, as i remembered,
Was during a (Fishing)trip to Australia few years Back, There was this little Cafe/Bistro(called White Dog i think..) next to the place he was staying?
And he and his father would visit the little Quiet establishment everyday for Breakfast, Lunch and dinner. As luck would have it, when they returned to singapore, Vivo was nearing completion and The Leasing manager called up his dad, and asked if he wanted a space there.. And thus, White Dog Cafe.
Anyway what i ordered... hmm
The Tissuesss.(No, i did not order the tissues. it was already there.)
The Whole Baby Chicken my dad had, Portion wise is like the Outside Western stalls Spring Chicken. But trust me. It's Gooood. The meat was quite tender, But the skin was Crisps, Thin and not oily. Does not have the funny chicken Smell in case you are wondering.[As for the sauce, the chilli had a kick to it, But the Black pepper sauce was Kinda Normal? Cause it tasted like brown sauce for the first few bites]
Striploin Steak(medium). The beef was tender.Corn was sweet, sauce was nice, Beef was nice, Corn was nice, Sauce was nice(Wonder if there's magic powder inside) It's worth the price.
My Hawaiian Pork Chop. The pork was.. Better than what i expected to be frank. It's marinated with Cajun Spices i think?
But the flavour came out as Smokey, Char-ey nice. The sauce Complimented well with the Pork.
Although Not as tender as the Pork Chop from cafe Cartel(Cafe cartel use loads loads loads of tenderizer if you're wondering)
But it's one big slab of Pork, with flavour all the way to the middle,
The Pork was NOT as tough like chicken breast meat, Instead it was firm and NOT powdery at all.
And most importantly, No funny kinda frozen pork smell.
The corn was sweet,
the Mash was alright(NOT Mediocre! Just that most mash taste the same.. )Now on the service.. I read some reviews on Yahoo.Sg.. And some people were complaining, That They didn't like The Cafe's way of leaving the carafe of water on your table, and you had to pour it yourself. On the contrary, i actually liked it. The carafe was pouring out ice cold water, it looked funky and interesting, and they placed it while saying "Please help yourself to the water."
Interestingly enough, i find pouring it myself more fun than having someone pour it for me.
I had a Baileys Frappe too.. Didn't take pict, as i was half through it. The frappe was RICH! RICH AND GOOD AND CREAMy. haha.. Had a baileys taste.. But could be slightly stronger, Wld try to persuade Mom & Ms.khoo to a meal there sometimes, wanna try their cocktails and deserts.
In summary, Based on what i had for today
Food & beverages: 9.0/10
Service: 9.0/10
Ambience(Facing Sentosa, On a nice comfy arm chair. with a nice dim lighting): 9.7/10
